MASCHINELL [originally created by Nen and Sloane]: a survivalist journey through a decimated cyberpunk landscape that nature has begun to reclaim. Full of rich characters and psychological exploration, MASCHINELL further investigates the entropic downfall of civilization back to tribal roots and survivor party units who must find balance between safety, war, and plans for the future. With all this, there is little else to say but: LONG LIVE THE MACHINE. THE MACHINE MUST DIE.
Until further notice, I (Nen) will be taking over MASCHINELL. Sloane may return to working with me when she gets more free time, but for now I’ll be doing everything solo. Please wish Sloane well in her endeavors! She’ll still be assisting and consulting, but I’m going to be doing the actual comic, concept, and the majority of the writing from here on out.
I won’t let you guys down! <3
Sloane and I have decided that instead of pursuing MASCHINELL just as a print graphic novel, we’re going to be doing it as a webcomic— so hopefully all that will work out and there’s likely to be less secrecy surrounding the actual comic portion of MASCH.
In discussion of this, we felt that with recent edits that we’re pushing in the book will be better applied if we’re not constrained by the tenets of a graphic novel page count and without going to the episodic nature and feel of a monthly or a quarterly. we felt that with a webcomic, we could have our story presented as a singular story that goes on without interruption.
we don’t know what we’ll be doing as an update schedule. we also don’t know about format, ad space, digi/trad, or anything else about how this will be applied as we’ve only just begun discussing how we’re going to apply ourselves collaboratively to the pages. this whole web comic idea is still in its infancy but it’s something that we feel well enough to say will definitely happen. :]
so rejoice! you don’t have to wait for years before MASCH is before your eyes. <3
Hello everyone, old and new followers alike!
i wanted to apologize for the seeming lack of activity here! between the holidays and cold/flu season, i’ve been a teensy bit strapped (i just got my meds today and i’m high as a fucking kite— who thought it was a good idea to make cough syrup out of hydrocodone?), but i know sloane has lots of new stuff and as soon as i can sit up straight, i’ll be posting a bunch of new stuff as well, including final designs for iio, masozi, and several other characters. i’m also hoping to finish that jhator and sargon piece in the first few days of the new year.
also, apparently, my carpal tunnel isn’t coming back— i just sprained my wrist. how the hell does that work? ><
we hope you all have a wonderful new year and thank you for all the support and love you’ve shown for us and our project!

as with every tuesday, sloane and i humbly ask you recommend us to the directory so that more people will discover our comic!
we are quickly approaching the 200 follower mark which means you all will be getting that deleted scene in the next couple of days. in hopes of getting done with more art and more comics, we’re intending on halting the web publishing of our prose version of the events and we’re going to throw ourselves straight into scripting— both for the end of the first book as well as our zero issue.
we are also putting together a KICKSTARTER project, so that sloane and i can work on this book together in one studio space. to those of you who don’t know, sloane lives in oregon and i live in georgia. the way we intended on doing the book was to draw over each other to make a cohesive style unit. so we’re actually intending on moving in together for a year to make this happen and that’s what the kickstarter will be helping us doing, in addition to possibly covering some publishing costs.
REWARDS from Kickstarter Donations!
We are still currently brainstorming for ideas of what crazy things to put on there, so if there’s something you’d like that you don’t see, let us know!
thank you all for chilling with us on this wicked journey. we’ve got a lot more stuff to come. ;]
